CELEBRATING TWO MILLION LAMBS
Between now and our annual meeting, Mountain States Lamb Cooperative will harvest our two millionth lamb! Mike Wheeler, Nugget International, has again generously agreed to donate a special pelt to the producer that sends the two millionth lamb to slaughter. You might remember that Nugget also awarded a beautiful pelt to Henry Etcheverry at our Annual Meeting in Boise for the millionth lamb harvested.
Plan now to join us for our 9th Annual Meeting, July 20-22, 2011 in the Greeley-Loveland, Colorado area. The Embassy Suites, Hotel, Spa, and Conference Center in Loveland will be our headquarters. We will kick off the meeting with a welcoming reception on Wednesday evening. Thursday and Friday will be full with business and educational sessions. You will enjoy informative updates on your co-op and meat company as well as tours and presentations designed to strengthen your bottom line. The convention will conclude Friday evening with a special banquet dinner. Come celebrate the tremendous lamb market and the two millionth lamb milestone with your fellow MSLC members.

MARKET NEWS TO EWES
Hello All!
I hope everyone is having a great spring and the sheep crop is plentiful. The pelt market has softened a little in the past few weeks, but demand has steadied and looks to remain the same in the near future. Pelt credits are still in the mid to upper 20 dollar range for shorn good quality pelts. It is still a safe bet to have 70 days in terms of wool length. Please pass some words of praise to the folks at Nugget when you see them at the Annual Meeting.
Please keep sending in your commitment letters for the summer and fall. I need as much information about our upcoming supply numbers as possible. It is crucial that MSR can count on our COOP members for a consistent and plentiful supply in the upcoming months.
If you have any feeder lambs that you are not planning on feeding yourselves please contact me as we have other members that are looking for lambs. It’s extremely important that we keep these numbers with the company.
I'm sure everyone is excited about the annual meeting. I will be available most of the time to discuss any issues or topics. Please feel free to call me in the meantime.
Thanks,
Brad Anderson
MSLC/ MSR Livestock Supply Manager
UNSHORN PELT CERTIFICATES
Due to high wool prices, the USDA has not paid a LDP on Unshorn Pelts starting with lambs harvested on April 15. We will not be receiving or sending out unshorn pelt certificates for lambs harvested after April 14- unless and until wool prices drop below the support level.

AFFADAVITS
Please remember to provide your feedlot with a natural affidavit when qualifying lambs are placed on feed. Feedlots should send a copy of the producer affidavit, feedlot, and shipping affidavit to the office and with the truck when lambs are harvested.
If you feed your own lambs the All Natural Producer Affidavit, Shipping Affidavit, and Feedlot Affidavit need to be faxed to the office each time, as well as sent with the truck.
If lambs do not leave your custody for feeding and/or shipping, separate affidavits are not needed-just the producer affidavit will suffice. For commodity lambs and natural lambs which you truck yourself, please fax the number of head, date and your name to the office. This serves as a double check and insures that payments are made to the correct producer.
